Position Title: High Performance Race Team Coach


Job Description and Responsibilities:

The Royal Vancouver Yacht Club is seeking an experienced and professional racing coach to work with either the Laser or 29er classes. This position would be responsible for organizing and implementing the seasonal racing program. The training program is based out of the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club facilities at the Jericho marina location; however some travel is required for events. Most travel is contained within the Pacific Northwest, but there may be occasional continental travel. The ideal candidate will execute prepared and dynamic sessions both on and off the water, hold daily debriefs, and draft and communicate travel plans/budgets for offsite training camps and regattas.


Position Requirements:

  • Previous experience and success coaching young sailors, along with significant racing experience at the local, national, and continental level
  • Significant coaching and international racing experience in the 29er or Laser class preferred
  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR certification
  • PCOC certification
  • Have completed the CANSail Fundamental Course, and CANSail Development coach, or Orange Level Instructor (or an internationally recognized equivalence)
