2023 CANSail 1-4 Instructors – Sidney North Saanich Yacht Club
Position Title: Summer Sailing Instructor (CANSail 1-4 and Optimist)
Sidney North Saanich Yacht Club (SNSYC) offers a variety of sailing opportunities for youth, including our Summer Sailing Program, Spring and Fall Race Team, and Community and School Leagues. SNSYC is looking for CANSail instructors to join our team of fun-loving summer coaches to instruct students age 7 through 18 from late June through August.
Qualifications Required:
· Trained or Certified CANSail 1-2 and/or 3-4 Instructor
· Pleasure Craft Operator Card
· Standard First Aid with CPR C
· CANSail Coach Boat Safety certification
· Previous experience coaching CANSail or Optimist courses is an asset.
Skills Required:
· Team Player
· Strong Communication Skills
· Ability to share enthusiasm for sailing with others! Show enthusiasm towards materials being taught and activities running throughout camps
· Experience working with small tools and boat maintenance considered an asset
· Eligible to work under Canada Summer Jobs Grant program (details here)
Compensation:
