2023 Sailing Training Administrator – Nanaimo Yacht Club
Nanaimo Yacht Club is looking to fill the role of STA for the 2023 season. The successful applicant will be required to start in March 2023, and you will be expected to work 35 to 40 hours a week and must be available until September 30th, 2023. Hours may include evenings and weekends as required. Candidates must have a mature attitude, trustworthy, honest, be a team player and willing to take on responsibility. They must have a high attention to safety and must be able to follow club procedures and maintain a professional standard at all times.
Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Effective delivery and administration of NYC’s Junior Sailing Training Programs and Race Team services
- Providing smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of the NYC
- Ensuring safety protocols are instituted and adhered to by all staff and participants
- Planning and overseeing Sailing School and NYC Race Team activities
Qualification requirements.
- Trained or Certified to be a CANSail instructor
- CANSail instructor membership in good standing for 2023
- Pleasure Craft Operator Card
- Standard First Aid with CPR C
- CANSail Safety Boat Certificate
- VHF certificate
Wages and benefits.
You will be paid a competitive hourly wage depending on qualifications and experience plus a $1 per hour season end performance bonus. Additionally, you will receive 4% holiday pay. Staff t-shirts and sweaters are provided. NYC junior members and staff can use our fleet of Club owned 420’s, and keelboats.
