2024/2025 Part Time Dinghy Sailing Instructor – Pearson College, Victoria

Relevant Info:

• Willing to pay a competitive hourly wage, $40-50, plus an  allowance for time spent travelling to and from our campus in Metchosin, near Victoria.
• Instructor will need to be CANSail certified and have appropriate certification for driving a coach boat.
• Instructor will be responsible for instructing two sailing sessions per week throughout the school year; Sept to April.  
• Depending on the availability and preference of the instructor, there are three possibilities for the days of instruction. 
  • two separate weekday sessions; Tuesday and Friday afternoons,  2:30 -5:00PM.
  • two sessions on the same day in the weekend; most likely Sat morn and afternoon.
  • one weekday (Tues or Fri PM) and one weekend session.

 

Other details:

• Instruction occurs from the College’s well-equipped sailing dock, located at our campus in Pedder Bay
• Pedder Bay includes a protected Inner Bay and more exposed Outer Bay, providing a variety of sailing conditions suitable for all skill levels. 
• The College dinghy fleet includes eight Lasers, two 420s and a zodiac coach boat.
• Although most participants will be beginners, some may have more advanced skills and/or racing experience.

 

There will also be an additional paid opportunity available for the instructor to organize/supervise a week-long sailing opportunity for activity participants during an experiential week in March.
