2024 Assistant Manager – Kitsilano Yacht Club
KYC is looking for a friendly part-time Assistant Manager to run the day-to-day operations on weekends and when the General Manager is out of the office. The Assistant Manager will report to the General Manager.
Tasks & Responsibilities
• Administration: Answer telephone calls, respond to customer service e-mails, receive payments, accept packages
• Digital Skills: fob programming, navigate website interface
• Client Service & Communication: Engage with members at the club, greet the public, give on-site facility tours to new and prospective members, receive complaints, communicate with the membership about upcoming events and activities at the club • Volunteer Co-Ordination: facilitate volunteer work around KYC, record volunteer hours
• Events and Activities: Assist with planning, help with set up and tear down
• Facility Coordination: Communicate with General Manager when something needs to be repaired or replaced, direct members to tool sheds Requirements
• Experience with Office Suite tools, specifically Word and Excel
• First Aid with CPR-C & AED
• Experience safely piloting powerboats and PCOC certified
• VHF or ROC-M license
• Understanding of sailing, boating & other marine activities
• Legally permitted to work in Canada
• Some experience on race committee (preferred)
• Experience organizing events and leading volunteers (preferred)
• Experience in marketing and web development (preferred)
Terms of Employment Soonest availability to November 10th, 2024, with an option to return in 2025. The position is part-time, working full-time on weekends and the option to work a full day on either Thursday or Friday or work half-days on Thursday and Friday. Note that some flexibility is required depending on club activities. Average of 20hrs per week.
Wage is $20 per hour. The position is on-site only at Kitsilano Yacht Club (work from home is not available). Full training will be provided during the onboarding process with the General Manager.
