Position Overview: 

We are currently seeking a Basic Cruising Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Sail Canada Basic Cruising Instructor certification or an equivalent qualification. As a Basic Cruising Instructor, you will play a key role in teaching and inspiring individuals to become competent and confident sailors while enjoying the stunning waters around Vancouver. 

 

Responsibilities: 

1. Conduct Sail Canada Basic Cruising courses for individuals and groups.
2. Provide hands-on instruction both onshore and on the water. 
3. Ensure a safe and enjoyable learning environment for students. 
4. Assess and evaluate students’ progress, providing constructive feedback.
5. Demonstrate a commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive sailing community. 

 

Requirements: 

1. Sail Canada Basic Cruising Instructor certification or equivalent qualification. 2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
2. Prior teaching or instructing experience.
3. Knowledge of local waters and sailing conditions. 
4. First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain). 
5. Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed.
