Assistant Instructor – Kelowna Yacht Club

 

Summary:
Under supervision of the Youth & Education Manager, this position entails helping the instructors teach, according to the Sail Canada standards. This involves working hand in hand with the Watersports and Education Administrator, other Instructors and Volunteers to run a safe and fun Sailing Program at the Kelowna Yacht Club. Our ideal candidate is a good team player and able to collaborate with follow instructors but is also capable of working independently running their own lessons.

Pre-requisites:
Be age 15 years or older
Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card
Coach boat safety certification
First Aid Certificate (Minimum Emergency Level ‘’C’’ with CPR)
Signed Sail Canada Coach Code of Conduct
VHF Maritime Radio certificate an asset

 

*The Kelowna Yacht Club may be able to assist you in attainment of these qualifications prior to the start of the season. Candidates with racing experience and a working knowledge of CHECKLICK web-based software, will be given special consideration.*

 

Schedule:
Seasonal (July-August, Full Time) – Optional additional work on evenings and weekends with private lessons, sailing team and rentals
