Price and Terms (OPSC)

Pricing (OPSC)

The standard price for the Offshore Personal Survival Course is $500.00, plus applicable taxes, in Canadian funds. This price includes course participation and materials, light refreshments (water, coffee, tea, and lunch) and, upon successful completion, a course certificate valid for five years.

To register and pay, you must use our online registration system.

Terms (OPSC)

For most classes, we offer discounted options for early bird registration (~10%) and training renewal/upgrades (~10%). When available, these options are automatically presented by the online registration system. For some classes, we may offer a pre-approved Advance Registration option for people who are confirmed crew of a boat that has entered an event that requires this type of training. You may only select an option if you are eligible, and these options are only available at the time of registration. We reserve the right to cancel ineligible registrations at any time.

OPSC registrations are cancellable and refundable, less a 25% administration fee, until 30 calendar days prior to the training start date. To be valid, cancellation and refund requests must be delivered by email to sas@bcsailing.bc.ca with receipt of the email confirmed within the above time frame. Registrations are non-cancellable and non-refundable within 30 calendar days of the training start date.

Registrations are transferrable within the same class on the same dates under circumstances acceptable to the organizers, until 15 calendar days prior to the training start date. A 25% administration fee will apply. To be valid, transfer requests must include the transferee information that is required for registration and be delivered by email to sas@bcsailing.bc.ca with receipt of the email confirmed and administration fee payment completed, all within the above time frame.

At check-in for the course, participants are required to sign a liability waiver – release of claims agreement.

At check-in for the course, participants are required to sign a personal information consent form. For the benefit of participants and event organizing authorities, BC Sailing and Sail Canada may maintain publicly-searchable databases listing your name, the course you completed, the certificate number, and the certificate expiry date.
