Schedule and Registration (CPSC)

General Information

  • Classes are usually scheduled in the October-to-April time-frame in order to minimize schedule conflicts with sailing events and instructor time-on-the-water.
  • The classes are popular and tend to fill up quickly.
  • We announce in advance the dates and times when registration will open. You can add these dates and times to your calendar as a reminder.
  • We use an online registration system with credit card payment processing.
  • We do not have an automated wait-list. You may send an email to sas@bcsailing.bc.ca if you would like to be advised when space is available.

BACKGROUND

BC Sailing’s Safety at Sea program offers personal survival training for racers and cruisers who are participating in coastal and offshore events and passages. Courses are delivered by Sail Canada accredited instructors in conjunction with local clubs and facilities. We use a mix of classroom, hands-on practical, indoor-outdoor, and in-the-water practical sessions.

Our mission is to enable sailors to prevent or mitigate emergencies and save lives.

The most current information on the Safety at Sea program, including course dates and registration, is always available on the website at BC Sailing Safety at Sea
