2026 KYC Fall Adult LTS CANSail Instructor
Position Title: CANSail Instructor
The Kitsilano Yacht Club is seeking CANSail Instructors to work with our Learn to Sail programs for the 2026 fall season. Our training fleet includes Club 420s, Martin 242s, RS Fevas, Hobie Waves, Lasers, and Optimists; in which we run a variety of courses for youth and adults in both group and private lessons. Start and end dates can be flexible.
At KYC, we prioritize safety, fun, and skill progression; ensuring that every sailor enjoys a rewarding
and engaging experience on the water. We believe in creating a supportive and collaborative
environment to enable our instructors to deliver a high quality program to our students while refining their
own skills. We appreciate instructors who are dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate about sailing.
The ideal candidate is someone who can work with us, not just for us.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
● Sail Canada Instructor Registration for 2026 (or ability to obtain)
● Experience instructing CANSail 1-4.
● Experience instructing CANSail 5-6 is considered an asset
● A passion for sailing and a genuine desire to share that passion and our sport with others.
● Leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Start Date(s) – Flexible; August 2026 through September 2026
End dates(s) – October 2026
Pay scale: $19.50/hr to $28/hr
