Job Summary: 

The West Vancouver Yacht Club is a private yacht club dedicated to the development and
encouragement of seamanship and sportsmanship, providing shore andmarine facilities for the use
of Club Members. The Club has a history as one of the top yacht clubs in the Pacific Northwest, and
its team is dedicated to delivering the highest value for its members and the communities in which it
works, while exhibiting a strong commitment to promoting environmental stewardship and corporate
responsibility.

 

Reporting directly to the Sailing Director, the High Performance ILCA Coach will have a deep
understanding of sailing knowledge, be comfortable coaching sailors, and be equipped to challenge
WVYC athletes as they compete.

 

This role is responsible for overseeing the ILCA team’s development and delivering on and off water
coaching throughout the year. There is a requirement to attend and coach at local, provincial, national,
and international regattas. They will ensure that the Club sailing programs are safe, functional, cost
effective, and fun, and that the team represents the WVYC brand well. They will work to create a
positive working environment by maintaining discipline, morale, and positive employee relations.
This role requires regular contact with parents, other teams, provincial and national associations,
regatta coordinators, and must therefore be friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable of the rules and
regulations.
