2021 Youth Sailing World Championship Recap

3 Athletes from BC attended their first Youth Sailing World Championship in Al Mussanah, Oman; from December 11th-18th, 2021.


13 young Canadian sailors gave it their all at the 2021 Youth Sailing World Championships, held in Oman. The event was attended by a total of 433 sailors between the ages of 12 and 19.


Grace Poole and Jessica Hirschbold, winners of 2021 CORK in both the female and overall finishes in the 29er fleet; represented Canada as the 29er Female Team. They had a notable 6th place finish in race #5.


Tayne Steven from Rossland, BC; represented Canada in the Male Kiteboarding Fleet. Tayne wrapped up the event in 16th overall.
