Trudy and Doug Peden Women in Sports Award

BC Sailing is deeply honoured to once again partner with the Trudy & Doug Peden Charitable Foundation to present the 2025 Trudy and Doug Peden Women in Sports Award.

 

Trudy and Doug Peden were lifelong advocates for sport in British Columbia and across Canada. Their legacy continues through this award, which supports and celebrates young women pursuing excellence both in athletics and academics. The intention of this award is to provide financial assistance to women in sport who are also pursuing post-secondary education, recognizing the dedication required to balance both commitments.

 

This year, two outstanding female sailors, Alexis Kuo and Anika Lange Sorensen, have each been awarded $3,000 in recognition of their hard work, performance, and commitment to sailing and their studies. We extend our sincere congratulations to Alexis and Anika for their achievements and for embodying the spirit of the Trudy and Doug Peden Women in Sports Award.
